The theacher:
Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang is Resident Teacher at Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Center in York (Northern England) and National Spiritual Director of Switzerland, Italy, Austria and South Africa.
She has been a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than 30 years. She is admired for her powerful clear teachings as well as her loving kindness and pure example of a sincere Kadampa practitioner.
We are very happy that Gen-la Kunsang has accepted our invitation and will be teaching the Austrian Dharma Celebration.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to bring anything with me?
No, you don’t need to bring anything with you. We provide you with everything you need for the course. There are meditation mats and cushions available, as well as chairs in case you cannot sit on a meditation cushion for that long.
It is a good idea to bring a notebook or paper and pen in case you want to write down something from the lecture and remember it for later.
Do I have to wear certain clothes?
No – Wear what you feel comfortable in. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes.
Traditionally you are asked to take off your shoes before entering the meditation room. We have underfloor heating and woollen socks if required.
Do I have to be Buddhist to participate?
No – you do not need to be a Buddhist to enjoy and benefit from our classes and events.
What can I expect from the courses?
The courses include a guided breathing meditation to relax, explanations on specific topics, practical suggestions on how to integrate these insights into our daily lives, and a concluding guided meditation.
Our meditation courses are self-contained, so it is possible to join at any time. They are suitable for beginners as well as for advanced practitioners.
Is it possible to try out a course without obligation?
Yes, we regularly offer an open day. Under the motto „Come in – An afternoon to meditate & get to know“ you can get to know the centre, our community and meditation free of charge.
In addition, our entire programme can be visited without obligation. You don’t have to have a monthly pass or be a Buddhist to participate.
In which language will the course be held?
This Public Talk will be held by Gen-la Kunsang in German.
For English speaking participants we offer translation.
